The Discalced Carmelite nuns of the Monastery of Mary, Mother of Grace in Lafayette invite you to unite with them as they joyfully celebrate the Religious profession of solemn vows of Sister Teresa of Jesus, OCD (Brittlyn Marie Sonnier). Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel will be the main celebrant of the Mass, and Father Adam Gregory Gonzales, OCD will be the homilist.
Father Gonzales was born and raised in Long Beach, California. He had Carmelite influence early in his life since his parochial school was staffed by an active congregation of Carmelites, the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. He attributes his Religious and Priestly vocation to their witness, their support, and their prayers. Fr. Adam entered the Carmelite Friars of the California-Arizona Province in 1997. He earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology at Mount Angel Seminary and was ordained in 2005. Presently, Fr. Adam serves the Province as Vicar Provincial, Local Superior, and Retreat Director at El Carmelo Retreat House. He was recently elected to serve on the National Board of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men (Religious).
