A concerted effort between the pastors, parishioners, leadership team and staff of St. Pius X Catholic Church received international recognition at the International Catholic Stewardship Council's (ICSC) 2016 Annual Conference. The effort began in 2015 as a result of St. Pius' inaugural Call to Discipleship series - an initiative that began once plans were underway to build a new church and St. Pius' leadership determined the next logical step would be to build the spiritual development of its members.
ICSC recognizes it members that have best promoted the spirituality of stewardship during the year. Each voting delegate receives a Materials Recognition Application. Separately, dioceses and parishes may enter their stewardship promotional materials for consideration. St. Pius returned home with an Honorable Mention parish recognition award, which was Second Place in the international competition.
Head Pastor, Father Steve LeBlanc, states, "I really think this initiative has helped to sustain St. Pius X's commitment to living out its mission, and spreading the Good News, especially during these turbulent economic times and dire times of distress. The acts of generosity and service our parishioners either gave or received from their fellow brothers and sisters, St. Pius and members throughout the community is truly a testament to the results that can happen when stewardship becomes a way of life.” This is especially true when you consider that nearly 80 St. Pius X parishioners and families from St. Pius Elementary School were affected by the recent flood."
St. Pius X Catholic Church enables all who seek Christ to hear the Gospel and live their faith as good stewards. In living the Good News, centered in the Eucharist, we bring Christ to others so all may live in freedom and grace.
