It's true . . . there's no such thing as a "Catholic Divorce" . . .but millions of Catholics DO get civilly divorced, and it affects and hurts us all.
Have you or someone you know, suffered the breakdown of their marriage and family, or maybe going through it right now? The Diocese of Lafayette offers divorce recovery programs. Please see below programs for more information.
Please contact the Office of Marriage & Family Life, 337-261-5653 for more infmation or to pre-register for an upcoming series. Series are held at parishes throughout the Diocese.
A program developed by Rose Sweet, Surviving Divorce is a ten week series created to bring hope and healing back into your life whether you are newly separated/divorced or have been divorced for many years. The program brings not only fellowship but addresses topics that include shock, denial, anger, grief, guilt, forgiveness, money, annulment, dating, remarriage and much more. Participants can expect to work through the emotional aspect of separation and divorce and find a deeper understanding of God's love. Those who have been through the program have commented on how helpful it was for them, especially being able to share and listen to other individuals going through similar experiences.
