The Diocese of Lafayette will stream the 2021 Rite of Election live from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be two separate ceremonies.
The North, West, and South Deaneries will celebrate on Sunday, February 21st at 2:30PM.
The Central Deanery will celebrate on Sunday, February 28th at 2:30PM.

At both ceremonies, only the Candidates, Catechumens, Sponsors, Pastors, and Presenters may attend. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate families and guests.
During Lent, the baptized are called to renew their baptismal commitment as others prepare to be baptized through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, a period of learning and discernment for individuals who have declared their desire to become Catholics.
