Bible Marathon Begins

The 8th annual Jubilee of the Word Bible Marathon kicked off today, January 18 in the town square of St. Martinville! Bishop Deshotel was one of the lectors today and read from on top of the Friar Truck, a retrofitted antique fire truck transformed into a mobile church with a built-in pulpit. The outdoor event draws over 3,000 faithful through the course of the 5-day continuous reading. The reading of the Bible continues day and night without pause and will conclude on Word of God Sunday, January 22 at 4:30 PM. Everyone is invited to stop by and stay as little or as long as you like!
