Circle of Friends, a diocesan-wide Catholic singles group that meets at Holy Cross Church (415 Robley Drive, Lafayette 70503), is sponsoring its annual one-day Singles Retreat. The retreat will feature Renee Hilton-Taylor, a retired teacher and spiritual director at Our Lady of the Oaks Retreat House in Grand Coteau, as the keynote speaker. Ms. Taylor also holds a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies and is the author of the book, Our Everywhere God.
The theme for this year’s retreat will be “The Single Life – A Glorious Unfolding,” and will be centered around the Serenity Prayer. Ms. Taylor will lead participants to reflect on how living single can be an experience of hope and joy, allowing for a deeper faith and intimacy with Christ.
Registration begins at 8:00 am at the Calais Center at Holy Cross. The retreat will end with the 4:00 anticipated Mass for the parish. The cost is $15 for the day and includes lunch, snacks and a light breakfast. Please pre-register your name and phone number at circleoffriendslaf@gmail.com or leave a message at 337-216-7592.
Circle of Friends hosts meetings at 7:00 pm most Tuesdays at Holy Cross for singles over 35 interested in spiritual growth and fellowship.
