Individuals with Disabilities

On Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, Bishop Deshotel celebrated a Mass for Individuals with Disabilities at St. Pius X Church in Lafayette, sponsored by the offices of Pro-Life Apostolate and Marriage & Family Life. Father William Schambough was the concelebrant and Deacon Phil Lizotte assisted. The Mass featured dim lighting, ample space to move around and alternative seating options. Pope Francis has declared December a month of prayer for individuals with disabilties emphasizing their importance in the Catholic community and the need to make them feel valued and included in our society.
