African American Youth Congress

Students from around the state gathered in Lafayette for the 2019 African American Catholic Youth Congress! They AACYC was held Saturday, November 23, 2019, at St. Thomas More High School. This youth-centered event is an opportunity to worship, celebrate, affirm, and acknowledge the rich culture and gifts African Americans bring to the Catholic Church. Sponsored by the Office of Black Catholic Ministries of the Diocese of Lafayette, this one-day event features speakers, workshops, skits and a Mass celebrated by Bishop Douglas Deshotel.
