Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary Deliver Supplies to Hurricane Victims
In the spirit of Christ and St. Peter Claver, Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary spearheaded a Hurricane Supply drive for individuals recovering from Hurricane Laura. On Saturday, September 12, 2020, Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary Members from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, New Iberia, Breaux Bridge, Opelousas, Loreauville, Rayne, Abbeville, Duson, Maurice, Cecilia, as well as members from Mississippi and Texas, gathered at Immaculate Heart of Mary Council No. 141 Knights of Peter Claver Hall in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The purpose of the gathering was to distribute hundreds of cases of water, nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, bleach, brooms, mops, and diapers to individuals who are trying to recover after their homes and personal belongings were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Laura. Over 1,000 plate luncheons were also distributed.
