New Priests Orientation

Thursday, June 21 was an exciting day for the seven men soon to be ordained priests in the Diocese of Lafayette. It was New Priests Orientation Day for Rev. Mr. Andrew Schumacher, Rev. Mr. Kyle White, Rev. Mr. Korey Lavergne, Rev. Mr. Blake Dubroc, Rev. Mr. Ben Pitre, Rev. Mr. Brent Smith, and Rev. Mr. Stephen Pellessier.

The day began with a meet and greet with Bishop Douglas Deshotel over coffee and donuts. After the meet and greet, the ordinands met with various Diocesan officials to learn more about transitioning from the seminary to a church parish. Then it was off to the studio with the Director of Seminarians Father Kevin Bordelon for interviews with the Director of Communications for the Diocese of Lafayette Blue Rolfes. Ordination will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. Due to ticketed seating only in the Cathedral and very limited standing room, viewing of the Ordination Mass will be available by a live stream in the Cathedral Parish Hall.
