Pet Blessing at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center wrapped up its celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi by hosting a blessing of the pets on Sunday, October 6, 2019. Sister Uyen Vu, a member of the order of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, the order that founded Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in 1949, led the blessing. Sr. Uyen prayed with the pets and their owners, then sprinkled each of the pets with holy water. It was a joyous celebration of the life of St. Francis, patron saint of animals.
