The Relics of St. Mary Magdalene are in the Diocese of Lafayette this week. The first of four churches where her Relics were available for public veneration was Our Lady of Fatima Church, where students and parishioners were able to venerate her Relics as well as learn about this Saint's fascinating history. Other stops include St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist and Our Lady of Wisdom Church on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus. Saint Mary Magdalene relics have been carried from the South of France, where they reside in the Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene, to the Diocese of Lafayette, LA by Fr Florian Racine, MSE. Fr Florian is the founder of the Missionaries of the Most Holy Eucharist, based in the town of St. Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume in Provence. Saint Mary Magdalene was the first adorerof the same Lord who remains with us until the end of time in the Eucharistic mystery. We pray that by meditating on all that she did for Jesus that our own hearts will become enflamed and transformed. Many thanks to Janenne DeClouet for these beautiful photos!
