Three outstanding students from the Diocese of Lafayette were named as this year’s Students of the Year! Bishop Douglas Deshotel and Superintendent of Catholic Schools Anna Larriviere announced the 2020 Students of the Year of the Diocese of Lafayette. Awards were handed out today in the Bishop's office at the central office of the Diocese in Lafayette. The three Catholic School Students honored with the title of Student of the Year are: 5th grade, Reed Michael Homan, St. Ignatius in Grand Coteau 8th grade, Carter Anthony Faucheaux, Hanson Memorial High School in Franklin 12th grade, Samuel Tate Gil, Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Ville Platte The students, their parents, and school sponsors were all present for the presentation of the awards. All three students will be competing at the regional level on February 12, 2020, in Baton Rouge. Congratulations and good luck!
