A transfer of cash or other assets to a charitable institution via a pre-planned process agreed upon by the Donor and the charitable institution. The donor’s gift is used to advance the mission of the charitable institution and at the same time benefits the donor by limiting income tax and estate tax liability.
1) Educates donors, in the context of stewardship, how to give from their assets and at the same time fulfill their life-long financial goals, reduce tax liability on the estate and avoid or reduce capital gains taxes thereby protecting what is left for their heirs.
2) Provides In-Parish Estate Planning Seminars. Church parishes in the Diocese of Lafayette may arrange to have an estate-planning seminar scheduled on their site. Arrangements can be made by calling 337-261-5641.

3) Sponsors Continuing Education Estate Planning Seminars. In May of each year, the Development Office sponsors a Continuing Education Estate Planning Seminar for financial advisors in the Diocese of Lafayette.
4) End of Year Giving Brochure. Helps prospective donors to save on taxes through a year-end charitable gift.
