Preparing Parents and Godparents for Infant Baptism:

"One cannot enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit."  John 3:5 
"..God patiently waited in the days of Noah during the building of the ark, in which eight persons were saved through water. This prefigured baptism, which saves you now." 1 Peter 3:20-21

      The Office of Catechetics in collaboration with the Office of Worship and Liturgy has produced a thirty-minute video that presents both the practical and theological reasons parents should present an infant for this Sacrament of Initiation into the Church. It is also a tool in re-evangelizing parents who are making the life-long commitment to be the first and primary educator of the Christian faith to their children while reinforcing the necessity of choosing the right person to assist them in this journey as a godparent. In the gospels, Jesus repeatedly states, "Let the children come to me." Let us rejoice in this initiation of a child of God into His universal family.
